I tried to sleep a lot today. The neighbors 6 year old kept having MAJOR meltdowns in their backyards everytime I was about to doze off. Sometimes it should be legal to pepper spray peoples kids.
Also, why is it that after abdominal surgery, when laughing = agony, everything suddenly becomes funny? Like, dumb stuff I would normally not care about, or maybe give a chuckle to, becomes a gut buster. Its agony.
Anyways, I’m on the mend, slowly but surely. The docs encouraged me to be as active as I reasonably feel comfortable (low impact, of course, basically walk around “a lot”) . This was probably a mistake because I am a big, dumb animal and my definition of a lot is different than most peoples, so I think I way over did the walking today. Its supposed to rain tomorrow so I suppose that will force me to slow down a bit.
Hope Oppo is doing well.

Good to hear you’re making it work.
The laughing part is funny to read about. It could be because the hospital is one of the least funny places to be, usually. Or, it could just be your mind’s way of keeping your body active.
Also, that sucks about the 6 year old neighbor. I’ll be honest, if that family is anything like ours, with 2 kids (5 and 6) things are tense at home these days, we’re all spending too much time in very close proximity. I'll apologize for your neighbors, we're sorry the kid kept you from sleeping well.
Keep us posted!

Get yourself a white noise machine. We have a large air purifier thing in our bedroom that makes a steady motor/blowing noise, and it’s brilliant. It either drowns out our asshole neighbor who blares his stereo at 3 am, or covers the kids’ noise when they stay up late.
Good to hear you’re feeling better.

These people have 8 kids, 7 of which are currently home, so I can only imagine what its like in their house. This 6 y.o. has always been rather loud, t hough. I think he sufferes from “not the baby” syndrome, i.e. when their youngest (whose o nly about a year and a half younger) showed up and he stopped getting attention, he became a bigger baby in an attempt to reclaim some attention. But I dont have any kids myself, so thats just my guess.
Aside from that it was a good day. I predict tomorrow will be more restful. And I'll keep Oppo posted.

I hope you didn’t laugh too hard. I LOL’d at the part about Neville Chamberlain and “Britain’s great prewar joke.”

Glad you’re perking up. I’ll tell you what’s funny, when you're healthy enough to hold the garden hose on the neighbor kids.

Welcome home! Glad to hear that useless organ didn’t go kablooey on you.
When I was in high school, my dad had a hemorrhoid surgery, and he lamented that so many things seem funny when you can’t laugh because you’ll tear the stitches on your asshole.
So... look on the bright side?
